2017 Baker Malbec

retail : $69.00

Library : 55

AVA/Vineyard/Blend/Oak : Walla Walla Valley - 100% Summit View - 100% Malbec - 100% French - 50% New Oak

Inky purplish-ruby colored, this possesses an intense, perfumed nose of wild blackberries, mountain blueberries, black cherries, black currants, crushed roses, mulberry, sweet tobacco, violets, and spiced oriental incense. On the palate, the flavors are thick, almost massive with layers of black and blue fruits, that are infused with black licorice, 80% cacao, Sumatra roast, and basalt and silt minerals. The supersaturation continues on the back with sensations of macerated berries, roasted walnuts, mocha, kirsch and crème de cassis liqueurs, pulverized charcoal, lanolin (“legs”), integrated oak (50% new French) and persistent minerality, followed by an incredibly opulent yet firm satiny tannin finish. This is the best Malbec I’ve tasted in a long time. (19.5/20 points Review of Washington Wines)

2015 The BOSS

AVA/Vineyard/Blend/Oak : Walla Walla Valley - 50% Less Collines, 50% Pepper Bridge - 46% Merlot, 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc - 75% French, 25% American - 75% New Oak

“The Boss” is a fusion of passion, style, and creativity between father and son, as we set out to share a story told through wine. We are using the solera method, where each wine is blended into the following vintage, giving our daughters the opportunity to someday make wine with the same juice that their grandfather had a hand in making. The "Rocking CK" (Cliff's old cattle brand) on the bottle is a tribute to the hard work and dedication our father has put into his career and family, long before the wine industry truly took hold in the Walla Walla Valley. Available in magnum only, and it comes in a beautiful logoed box that we invite you to brand during the November pick up party. (19.5+/20 - Review of Washington Wines)
