February is For Foodies - 2016

Around the World in 8 Wines.  A wine and appetizer pairing adventure!

Every February, the Walla Walla Valley continues to solidify their reputation as a foodie's paradise by offering special events and amazing promotions.

Kontos Cellars is teaming up with Walla Walla Food Tours and three of our neighbors on a walking aperitivo tour, "Around the World in Eight Glasses".  Enjoy traditionally paired bites with two tastings of either wine or hard cider at each stop.  Learn a little about the origin of the varietals you will be tasting and participate in some fun challenges along the way.  Tours will be on Fridays and Saturdays from 3-5pm, the entire month of February.  Call Walla Walla Food Tours for more information or visit http://www.wallawallafoodtours.com

Spring Release - May 5 - 7

Spring Release Weekend is here!

Join us for the release of the 2016 Gossamer White and 2013 Beckett.  Celebrate with live music by Jared Pennington on Friday evening, 5-9pm.

In addition to the Gossamer and our daily lineup of Merlot, Cabernet, Alatus Blend and Syrah, we have a sample of The BOSS for you to try!  He doesn't come out very often, so you will want to grab a taste while he is here.

'00 FYSALíDES (fee-sa-leed-es).  The introductory wine to our new and very limited sparkling project, sourcing fruit from the Willamette Valley.

FYSALíDES translates to "tiny bubbles" from Greek.  This cold climate blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir has been a long time coming.  In partnering with vineyards for upcoming vintages in the Willamette Valley, we came across a project that we needed to be part of.  Two vintages, 1998 and 2000, of OLD wine that had been part of an extended tirage project from years past, still on lees and yeast!  Once disgorged and finished with the dosage in March, we brought these relics back up to Walla Walla to share with you!

We hope you enjoy this rare treat, until we are ready to introduce the 2017 vintage!
