A Tribute Release for our Troops.
In honor of our troops who provide us with the freedom to go about our daily lives and pursue our passions, we present a special blend.
An opportunity to give back a little bit to our troops overseas presented itself recently. Ana, a long time friend of ours talked with us about the possibility of creating a special label to commemorate her Squadrons 2009-2010 deployment in Iraq. By combining efforts with Etchings Walla Walla, we were able to provide Ana Martinez-Townsend and her fellow unit members a special package that we can all be proud of. Proceeds go to the National Military Family Association.
About Ana and B Troop
Ana Martinez-Townsend, a Walla Walla native, is a member of the 1-230th Air Cavalry Squadron from Knoxville, Tennessee and she belongs to B Troop. The 1-230th was selected as the Aviation Squadron of the Year by the Army Aviation Association of America for 2009. Her troop alone has flown an astounding 11,400 Combat hours in Northern Iraq. The squadron consists of OH58D Kiowa Warriors, and UH-60 BlackHawk Helicopters). Ana, the only female in B Troop, will have flown close to 900 Combat hours in Iraq by the time she and the other 33 pilots return home to their families.
Update: Tragically, several weeks ago two of her fellow pilots lost their lives in a crash over Iraq.
